LIFE PURPOSE

Life purpose is our main aim or goal in life. It is the reason why we get up in the morning. The first step towards living a purposeful life is finding out whether we are already making good choices or we need to make a change.

We all need to find a purpose in life. We may have multiple purposes, it will differentiate every individual. It may change over time depending upon our priorities and fluctuations of experiences in different phases of our life.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF LIFE PURPOSE?

Living with a goal or purpose makes us feel happy, fulfilled, content and alive. It keeps us in the flow of life. Being in flow means getting absorbed in some activity may it vary from cooking to painting. These activities will be your purpose when you completely forget about time whilst doing a particular thing. The concept of being in flow is a key part of leading an emotionally and mentally healthy life.

The two core practices for living a purposeful life are

  2. Taking action

INTROSPECTION

  1. Review your day before going to bed daily for a few minutes and ask yourself two questions
  2. Which experiences made me happy today?
  3. Which experiences made me feel dull today?
  4. Meditate 15 -20 minutes daily.
  5. Journaling – a place where you can express yourself honestly.
  6. Make a goal book/ bucket list

TAKING ACTION

  1. Act upon what you realize about yourself
  2. Align your everyday life with moments of flow and utilize your gifts
  3. Serve others
  4. Start acting on the goals which are connected to your purpose
  5. Create a one-year vision plan.
